3rd Quarter Reflection # 7

The NFL, NHL, and NBA all have standard sizes for their playing surfaces so that the dimensions are the same no matter where you are playing in all of those sports. The following are the dimensions for each sport:
NFL Field= 120 yds by 53 yds
NHL Rink= 200 ft by 85 ft
NBA Court= 94 ft by 50 ft

The only one of the four major American sports that doesn't require a standard size is MLB. As you may know, each field has its own dimensions. For example, Yankee Stadium is 318 ft to right field while Fenway Park is only 310 ft to left field but they have the Green Monster standing tall. Some question whether or not being able to tailor your filed to your liking gives the home team an unfair advantage over opponents.

The question for this weeks blog is whether or not you believe MLB should do what the other major sports have done and standardize the size of each teams field. Please give your opinion on this topic and explain your answer fully.
